The Todd Michael Band
Established in late 2017, the Todd Michael Band is a band of high caliber and all-star country musicians. The band was formed as a vision of Todd Michael, a singer/songwriter from Michigan, to be a regional powerhouse and to spread their passion and joy of music to all who attend their shows.
The Todd Michael Band is composed of:
Todd Michael – Lead Vocals - the golden voice and Country front man out of the Great Lakes Bay Region of Michigan, has been nominated for Country Male Vocalist of the Year by Review Magazine in 2016, 2017, and again in 2018. Todd found a love for music very early on and has been singing since he can remember. "My first solo performance was at 6 years old in church for Father's Day. I sang "Love With Out End, Amen" by George Strait. Country music is in my blood and nothing more I love than to be on stage and entertaining." Todd continued to grow his passion for singing at Reese High School and as he attended Saginaw Valley State University. In 2008, Todd won the Soaring Eagle Casino Idol Contest. Since then, Todd has performed with many great musicians, providing direct support for National Artists – Brothers Osborne, Trent Harmon, Parmalee, Jason Michael Carroll, Thompson Square, Lauren Duski, Casi Joy, Eli Young Band, Jerrod Niemann, Brett Young, Ashley McBryde, David Lee Murphy, and Josh Gracin, Sara Evans, Wynonna, Carly Pearce, Chase Rice, and Ray Fulcher. Todd has been lead vocals for the bands Detroit Dixie, Kickin' Dust, and most recently Taylor Tucky.
The Todd Michael Band Members:
Rob Dutcher - Guitar/Vocals - Rob is a rare “jack of all trades” musician and more than excels at these “trades”. He is an accomplished guitar player, drummer, vocalist, songwriter, producer and engineer. He also has the convenience of a recording studio in his home and takes advantage of it whenever he can. He has showcased his talents on many recordings over the years with some of them earning airplay on local radio stations. Rob notes, “I grew up on KISS, Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, and all the 70’s rock and roll. If you have told me 15 years ago that I would be playing country music, I would have laughed. This new generation of country is a lot more rock than it was 10 years ago. There are a lot of great guitar players in the country music scene!” Rob’s guitar playing has that edge that the new generation of country demands, plus he still has that country “twang” in his back pocket when he needs it. He is a great showman with great stage presence which makes him a great asset to the Todd Michael Band.
Bruce Shew - Bass/Vocals - Bruce is a 4th generation musician and has over 20 years of playing bass professionally. Bruce not only plays the bass extremely well, but he also has great vocal ability to sing both lead and harmnoy. Bruce has played throughout the U.S. with other bands - such as The Rock Show, Steve Armstrong and the 25 Cent Beer Band, Sinjon Smith, Taylor Tucky, and Goldie Locks before joining the Todd Michael Band.
Pete Johnson - Acoustic Guitar/ Vocals/ Bass -
Pete Johnson brings an exciting edge to the Todd Michael band by creating intriguing Acoustic Guitar parts, instinctive harmonies and delivering high energy performances. He plays bass, guitar, piano, and even the ukulele. Pete brings professionalism to all areas including assisting with some of the arrangements and production.
Born into a family of talented musicians, it is no surprise how quickly his passion for music and precision developed. He began studying piano at age 5. With growing interest this was followed by singing and playing in his church’s praise band, he has also been a member of such groups as Kari Holmes, Five Rows Back and The Stand Strength Team. He started his own group, BIC, where he wrote and recorded music, played bass and sang lead. He now brings this enthusiasm, dedication and talent to the Todd Michael Band!
Justin Clifford - Drums - The soulful thundering drummer from Bay City, MI heads the rhythym section and keeps everyone on their feet and the band in time! Always rockin' on the "White Tiger" carpet, Justin brings his years of experience in the studio and on the road from his days as a member of Tweed and Dixie before joining the Todd Michael Band.
